Brand
A Brand in Glide is similar to an Organization, but with 1 key difference; you can have multiple Brands for a single instance of Glide.
A Brand is a way to group orders, products, customers, etc.
Being able to handle multiple brands in a single instance of Glide gives huge efficiency gains. For example, you can pull in orders from various sources and send proofs for each, all in their respective brands so customers have a seamless experience.
However, when it comes to manufacturing, efficiency comes from batching. So you can batch orders from multiple brands into a single run, benefiting massively from grouping orders from multiple brands together.

Line item
A line item is 1 product within an order.
An order is made up of multiple line items, or products.

Operating with line items gives Glide, and your business much more flexibiltiy.

Tasks
Tasks are the backbone of Glide. An order and it's Line Items will have a number of Tasks assigned all the way to Shipping.
We create & destroy tasks for line items throughout the order fulfilment process.
For example, if we need to quality control the contents of a Line Item, we create a 'Verify quality' task, which is marked as complete once done.
It's how Glide can give you a complete history of when things happened, along with accurate analytics.
